Foxconn, the global electronics contract manufacturing behemoth, is making significant strides in expanding its presence in the AI hardware sector within the United States. Recent real estate filings reveal that Foxconn has acquired two contiguous industrial properties in Santa Clara, California, boasting a combined construction area of roughly 110,100 square feet. These facilities are earmarked for the production of AI hardware and server equipment.

Previously, Foxconn had already declared an initial investment ranging from $1 billion to $5 billion to bolster its manufacturing operations in the U.S. This move is strategically aimed at catering to the colossal demand for computing power emanating from leading AI companies like NVIDIA and OpenAI.

Foxconn Chairman Young Liu has expressed that both parties will collaborate closely to tackle specific challenges that may surface during the inception and operation of AI data centers. Furthermore, Foxconn has ambitious plans to manufacture cables, power supply systems, and other essential equipment necessary for data center facilities locally in the United States. The company anticipates assembling up to 2,000 server racks per week by 2026, underscoring its commitment to the U.S. market and its role in the burgeoning AI industry.
