According to sources familiar with the matter, NVIDIA is in talks with Australian AI cloud service provider Firmus about an investment worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Firmus unexpectedly withdrew its IPO plans earlier this month. The negotiations may imply that NVIDIA will continue to support a number of new cloud providers whose business models have not yet been validated. These companies are currently facing financial pressure as they have built data centers by incurring substantial debts to purchase NVIDIA GPUs. Analysts pointed out that NVIDIA has already taken on more than $170 billion in risk exposure for these companies and other major customers, including providing credit guarantees and assisting in debt financing.
