On October 16, Hui King-wai, the head of Global Listing Services at Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX), shared insights at the Global Wealth Management Forum · 2026 Shanghai Suhe Bay Summit. He noted that TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecommunications) and artificial intelligence-related companies have been particularly active in raising capital in Hong Kong's financial market this year. These sectors have collectively accounted for roughly 70% of the total IPO funds raised in the Hong Kong stock market, and around 50% of all equity and equity-related issuances throughout the year.
Hui further disclosed that among mainland Chinese companies listing in Hong Kong this year, approximately 60% have reported overseas revenue. Some of these companies even generate more than half of their total revenue from international markets. Additionally, he highlighted that in recent years, about 80% of Hong Kong IPOs have attracted participation from international cornerstone investors. These investors hail from diverse markets, including the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region, reflecting the global appeal and significance of Hong Kong's capital market.
