On October 13 and 14, Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management held its 2026 Advisory Board meeting. A host of distinguished business leaders from both China and abroad attended, including Tim Cook, Executive Chairman of Apple's Board, Li Yanhong, founder of Baidu, and Ma Huateng, founder of Tencent. The event was even covered by CCTV's 'Xinwen Lianbo'. After relinquishing his role as Apple's CEO, Cook chaired the annual meeting for the first time in his new capacity as chairman of the advisory board. Prior to the meeting, he visited Tsinghua's School of Economics and Management and was also seen at the Yonghe Lama Temple.

The attendees lauded China's advancements in the realm of artificial intelligence and expressed their commitment to further solidifying their presence in the Chinese market and broadening their collaborative efforts. They aspire to act as a conduit for Sino-foreign exchanges. This year, the advisory board welcomed three new members: Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA; Lisa Su, Chairman of the Board and CEO of AMD; and Renaud de Planta, Senior Managing Partner of Pictet Group. The inclusion of leaders from two prominent computing chip companies simultaneously has sparked considerable interest within the industry.

Since its inception in October 2000, the Advisory Board of Tsinghua's School of Economics and Management has functioned as a premier platform for dialogue between China's academic community and the global business sector. The convergence of tech luminaries in Beijing this time is viewed by outsiders as a testament to the vibrant exchanges within the global tech industry and the enduring, positive collaboration in Sino-foreign scientific and technological innovation.
