On October 6, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon stated that Anthropic's newly launched AI model, Mythos, has significantly elevated global cybersecurity risks. Dimon mentioned on Tuesday that the emergence of Mythos has multiplied the risks posed by artificial intelligence by ten times. AI has revealed previously unknown cybersecurity vulnerabilities, which were already concerning before the advent of new technologies. He further explained that artificial intelligence is exposing banks to new and undetected security threats. Dimon acknowledged that concerns about technologies like AI agents and Mythos, which could potentially cause issues, are reasonable and valid. However, he refused to engage in discussions about whether artificial intelligence poses an 'existential threat.' Dimon emphasized, 'I won’t overreact to whether it constitutes an existential threat. What we need to do now is proactively address and work to resolve these issues.'
