UBS strategists have highlighted that the stock market surge propelled by AI concepts is not only persisting but also broadening its reach. This expansion is occurring as AI-related expenditures are progressively converting into tangible earnings across various sectors, including industrials, healthcare, utilities, and finance. The team, helmed by Bhanu Baweja, advises sustaining investments in the AI sector while simultaneously bolstering defenses against undervalued macroeconomic risks prevalent in the market. They project that the S&P 500 index will ascend to 8,100 points by the conclusion of 2026, marking an approximate 6% increase from Monday's closing value, and will further climb to 8,900 points in 2027. Similarly, they anticipate the Euro Stoxx 600 index will reach 690 points by the end of 2026, reflecting an around 8% rise, and will continue its ascent to 760 points by the end of the following year. The strategists maintain that, despite tepid economic growth, robust earnings underscore the fact that the AI capital expenditure cycle is extending its influence beyond hyperscale cloud service providers and chip manufacturers to encompass a wider array of industries.
