The General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has officially launched the 'Entrepreneurship Support Plan for AI-Powered Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) (2026-2028)'. This initiative is designed to foster the growth of a substantial number of innovative and high-potential AI startups within critical sectors such as industrial applications, data services, and intelligent computing over the next three years. The expectation is to nurture over 10,000 technology and innovation-driven SMEs, along with more than 2,000 specialized, refined, and distinctive 'Little Giant' enterprises, while also witnessing the rise of several gazelle and unicorn companies. Concurrently, the plan will prioritize the AI industry by establishing 10 technology business incubators and 10 national public service demonstration platforms (bases) tailored for SMEs, as well as promoting the development of 10 new national-level characteristic industrial clusters for SMEs. This strategic move aims to invigorate the entrepreneurial and innovative spirit of AI-powered SMEs and lay the groundwork for a landscape where AI significantly contributes to the high-quality development of SMEs.
