Therefore, society needs to proactively discuss issues such as unemployment, retraining, and social security, and address the structural problems in the functioning of an economic system that relies on employment. Additionally, Gates is concerned about AI lowering the technical barriers to dangerous behaviors, including cybersecurity risks, biotechnology risks, and the risks of autonomous actions by AI systems. He advocates for the establishment of domestic and international governance mechanisms and calls for early dialogue among leading AI nations such as China and the United States to develop common norms. Gates also suggested that AI's excessive understanding of humans might deprive them of growth opportunities, such as children relying on AI companions and students depending on AI for learning. Therefore, society should actively discuss the boundaries between humans and AI. Despite these concerns, Gates remains optimistic about the value of AI, believing that it can empower fields such as healthcare, agriculture, and government services, and redistribute professional capabilities.
