On August 10, Bloomberg reported that according to industry research data, Chinese manufacturers of humanoid robots accounted for a staggering 97% or more of global shipments in the first half of 2026. This achievement has allowed them to establish a significant early lead over their US counterparts in this burgeoning sector. Data from the US research firm SAG further reveals that global shipments of humanoid robots soared to around 19,100 units during the same period in 2026, marking a more than threefold increase compared to the same timeframe the previous year. Shipments for the entire year are anticipated to reach 60,000 units, with projections indicating a surge to 500,000 units by 2030. Among these, Zhiyuan Robotics and Unitree Technology emerged as frontrunners, shipping 8,400 and 5,900 units, respectively, in the first half of the year, thus leaving US companies far behind.
