According to the latest data released by OpenRouter, the total global usage of AI large-scale models surged to 69 trillion Tokens in the week spanning August 3 to August 9, marking a significant 21.48% increase week over week. Focusing on country-specific performance, China’s AI large-scale models achieved a weekly usage of 34.25 trillion Tokens, up by 21.76% from the previous week. This impressive feat has allowed China to outpace the United States for 15 consecutive weeks, solidifying its position as the global leader in this domain. During the same period, the United States witnessed a weekly usage of 9.17 trillion Tokens for AI large-scale models, experiencing a notable 109.36% increase week over week.

On a global scale, the top four AI large-scale models in terms of usage last week all hailed from China. Leading the pack was DeepSeek-V4-Flash-0731 (the official version of DeepSeek-V4-Flash), which recorded a weekly usage of 8.83 trillion Tokens, soaring by 570% from the previous week. Close on its heels was Tencent’s Hy3, with a weekly usage of 8.05 trillion Tokens, reflecting a 67% increase week over week. Meanwhile, DeepSeek-V4-Flash-0423 (the preview version of DeepSeek-V4-Flash) secured the third spot, with a weekly usage of 5.88 trillion Tokens, albeit experiencing a slight 19% decrease week over week.
