According to a report from the Financial Times, the hedge fund Situational Awareness, established by Leopold Aschenbrenner, an ex-employee of OpenAI, has incurred losses as a result of the downturn in AI-related stocks. Presently, this entity, which oversees assets totaling around $20 billion, is actively pursuing new capital infusions. The report, citing anonymous insiders with knowledge of the situation, reveals that the fund has reached out to its current investors and creditors to deliberate on raising additional funds. Certain investors have been presented with the opportunity to acquire assets from the fund's investment portfolio. As one of the sources mentioned, these negotiations are merely interim measures.
