Speaking at an AI-themed event on the same day, Anwar emphasized that artificial intelligence has emerged as a pivotal factor in determining the country's future competitiveness and viability, necessitating Malaysia's proactive engagement in mastering this technology. Furthermore, in response to the novel challenges brought about by AI advancements, such as national security concerns, data sovereignty issues, and cybersecurity threats, the government recognizes the urgent need to establish a robust and all-encompassing governance framework.
