On July 27, Meituan addressed circulating rumors regarding the potential resignation of Pei Peng, leader of the foundational model team at Meituan's LongCat division. The company formally clarified that these reports were unfounded. Pei Peng, who joined Meituan in 2023 as the pre-training lead for the foundational model team within the Computing and Intelligence Platform Department, later ascended to head the LongCat foundational model team. In this capacity, he has been at the forefront of Meituan's efforts in large language models, multimodal models, and Agent-based intelligent systems. Notably, he has overseen the creation and deployment of LongCat-2.0, marking a significant milestone as the industry's first trillion-parameter large model developed entirely with domestic computing resources from inception to implementation.
