According to reports from AIGC Era, there has been a significant leadership change within Tencent's Hunyuan multimodal understanding team. Hu Han, who previously led the team, has stepped down from his position. Taking the helm is Tian Yonglong, a former researcher at OpenAI and a Ph.D. graduate from MIT. Tian Yonglong will now oversee the research and development efforts focused on Visual Language Models (VLMs), reporting directly to Yao Shunyu, who heads the Large Language Model Department.
Before his tenure at Tencent, Hu Han made notable contributions as the lead researcher in the Visual Computing Group at Microsoft Research Asia, where he gained extensive experience and expertise in the field.
