AMD Unveils Strategic Partnership with Anthropic

On July 22 (local time), AMD and Anthropic jointly declared a strategic partnership. Anthropic intends to integrate up to 2 gigawatts of Instinct MI450 series GPUs into AMD's Helios rack-level solutions. The initial deployment phase, encompassing 1 gigawatt, is slated to kick off in the first half of 2027. Furthermore, AMD has pledged a strategic equity investment of up to $5 billion in Anthropic. The two entities will also harness the capabilities of Claude to streamline GPU workloads and expedite the advancement of the AMD ROCm software platform.
