On July 24, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology convened the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) High-Level Dialogue on Digital and Intelligent Empowerment in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. At the event, Li Lecheng outlined four key aspirations:

Firstly, he urged APEC economies to capitalize on the opportunities afforded by technological transformation. He advocated for the swift integration of digital and intelligent technologies across diverse sectors, achieved through the promotion of advanced technologies and collaborative research and development initiatives.

Secondly, he championed the inclusive dissemination of innovation achievements. He emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation in developing digital service capabilities, promoting the adoption of lightweight intelligent tools and solutions, and bridging the digital and AI divide to ensure equitable access for all.

Thirdly, he called for the cultivation of an open and interconnected unified market. He stressed the need to maintain the stability of global digital and AI industrial and supply chains, deepen cooperation in open-source technologies, and foster an open innovation ecosystem that encourages collaboration and growth.

Lastly, he underscored the significance of ensuring the security and ethical integrity of digital and intelligent governance. He highlighted the necessity of strengthening coordination and cooperation among APEC economies to establish a widely accepted governance framework and standard norms that prioritize safety and ethical considerations.
