Codex Engineering Manager Thibault announced that a hard reset will be performed for all paid subscribers without retaining the number of manual resets. This hard reset aims to address issues with manual resets, and after resolving related operational problems, additional retainable manual resets will be granted to users. Previously, the manual resets gifted by OpenAI expired as early as July 12th, but mobile users faced inconvenience in performing resets, with only about 10% of users completing the process. Currently, OpenAI is fixing product issues, with relevant features added to the desktop version, and reset options now available on mobile after upgrading to the latest version. Additionally, Codex has temporarily removed the 5-hour rolling limit mechanism, allowing users to exhaust their weekly limit in a short period. Users with multiple manual reset opportunities can continue to consume after resetting. OpenAI will use this to test system load, and if the test results are favorable, the limit may be directly removed in the future.
