On July 9, 2026, Meta made a significant announcement—it opened up the Muse Spark AI model API to developers and rolled out the enhanced Muse Spark 1.1, thereby formally stepping into the realm of AI model commercialization. This model shines in programming and AI Agent tasks. It has the ability to write and debug code, operate software, call upon external tools, and comprehend text, image, and video content to accomplish intricate multi-step tasks. In the United States, developers can now access Muse Spark via the public preview version of the Meta Model API. Upon registration, they receive a complimentary credit of $20. Subsequently, they are charged at a rate of $1.25 per million input Tokens and $4.25 per million output Tokens. Moreover, Muse Spark 1.1 has been introduced on both the Meta AI app and its web version. There are also plans to progressively replace the Llama series models that power the chatbots on WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Meta smart glasses.
