As part of its active expansion of AI infrastructure, Meta has announced plans to establish its first large-scale data center in Alberta, Canada. This marks Meta's 33rd data center globally and signifies the official extension of its AI infrastructure footprint into Canada. According to Meta's blog post released on Wednesday, the data center will have a capacity of approximately 1 gigawatt and is a facility specifically optimized for AI, with an estimated investment of around $9 billion and a construction timeline of two to three years.
