Samsung Electronics has recently made an announcement regarding the introduction of two cutting-edge AI tools—ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex—to its employees in South Korea and across its global Device Experience (DX) division. The primary objective behind this move is to elevate employee productivity and problem-solving skills across diverse business sectors, encompassing R&D, manufacturing, and marketing.
ChatGPT Enterprise is designed to support employees in efficiently tackling knowledge-based tasks, including information retrieval, analysis, and document composition. Moreover, it offers robust enterprise-level security measures. On the other hand, Codex, initially tailored for software development, has evolved to assist non-technical teams in enhancing their productivity as well. It empowers employees to transform their ideas into functional software or internal tools.
The General Manager of OpenAI Korea disclosed that Samsung perceives AI as a pivotal platform for amplifying employees' work efficiency and innovation capabilities. Both parties are set to deepen their collaboration, with a shared vision of fostering creativity, problem-solving, and the development of novel products and services among employees.
Previously, Samsung and OpenAI had already embarked on a collaborative journey in the realm of global AI infrastructure, with Samsung supplying advanced memory semiconductors. This partnership now extends its reach to encompass employee transformation and the widespread adoption of AI applications throughout the company.
Furthermore, in South Korea, Seoul National University has granted complimentary access to ChatGPT Edu for a community of 47,000 members. Additionally, OpenAI has forged a partnership with Kakao, enabling users to pose questions directly to ChatGPT within KakaoTalk group chats, thereby enhancing the accessibility and utility of AI technology.
