According to Sensor Tower's 'State of AI 2026 Report', OpenAI's ChatGPT saw its market share fall below 50% for the first time, dropping to 46.4%, while Google's Gemini and Anthropic's Claude increased their shares to 27.7% and 10.3%, respectively. Despite this, ChatGPT still leads with over 1.1 billion monthly active users, compared to Gemini's 662 million and Claude's 245 million. The report projects that global AI app downloads will approach 2.3 billion in the first half of 2026, with user spending exceeding $4.2 billion. Notably, AI app downloads in Asia declined by 3.3% for the first time in the first quarter of 2026.
