On June 14, The Wall Street Journal disclosed that the Trump administration had opted to bar foreign entities from utilizing Anthropic's cutting-edge AI model. This move was precipitated by a series of communications involving Amazon CEO Andy Jassy and key U.S. officials, including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Jassy highlighted that Amazon's research team had uncovered vulnerabilities in Anthropic's Fable 5 model, which could potentially be leveraged to extract information pertinent to cyberattacks. Consequently, the U.S. government enacted export control measures, restricting access to both the Fable 5 and Mythos 5 models.
