Karsten Wildberger, Germany's Minister for Digitalization and National Modernization, has come under intense scrutiny from both the German media and the general public amid suspicions that he has been utilizing AI tools to compose speeches and other official documents. According to a report by the German weekly newspaper Die Zeit on the 13th, software analysis specifically designed to detect AI-generated content has indicated that numerous speeches and opinion pieces credited to Wildberger are likely to have been primarily generated by AI. The report highlights that articles published by Wildberger in prominent German newspapers, along with several parliamentary speeches, display substantial signs of AI assistance. Notably, his 2024 speech at the U.S. think tank Atlantic Council has been accused of being entirely crafted by AI.

However, experts have issued a word of caution, noting that the accuracy of such detection software is not infallible and cannot be relied upon 100%. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Digitalization and National Modernization confirmed to the German News Agency that Wildberger does indeed employ AI as a tool to aid in his work. The spokesperson emphasized that this approach is rooted in Wildberger's steadfast belief that Germany must rapidly acquire proficiency in the efficient and judicious use of artificial intelligence—a principle that he deems applicable across the economy, public sector, and political landscape.
