On May 29, Lingyan Pavilion Chip Technology (LYG) and Skymizer, a company specializing in AI inference chips, unveiled a strategic partnership. Coinciding with Skymizer's launch of the world's inaugural ASIC chip, the HTX301, tailored specifically for large language models (LLMs), the two entities will collaborate to co-develop a new generation of LPU ASIC inference chips. This endeavor aims to propel the commercialization of AI systems grounded in LLMs within edge and local deployment settings. According to the Zhuhai Semiconductor Industry Association, this alliance marks a pivotal strategic maneuver by Lingyan Pavilion to bolster its indigenous AI chip development prowess and penetrate the edge LLM market. The HTX301 chip harnesses Skymizer's HyperThought platform, a cutting-edge software-hardware co-design framework. It facilitates multi-chip integration on a singular card, coupled with high-capacity memory, thereby enabling local inference of 700B-parameter large models with minimal power consumption and unparalleled energy efficiency in the industry. Leveraging this chip, Lingyan Pavilion has crafted AI application solutions, including intelligent conference systems and educational development boards. Moreover, it intends to expedite the research, development, and global market promotion of next-generation LLM chips through this collaborative effort.
