GitHub has confirmed that it is investigating an incident involving the breach of its internal repositories. The threat group TeamPCP claimed to have stolen approximately 4,000 private code repositories and is offering them for sale at a starting price of at least $50,000. GitHub has confirmed that around 3,800 internal repositories were affected, with the attack originating from a malicious VS Code extension. Customer data was not impacted.
