GitLab has announced that it will conduct large-scale layoffs to free up funds for investment in the AI agent market, with the specific number of layoffs to be announced on June 2. The restructuring includes reducing the number of countries where the business operates by up to 30%, streamlining management levels, splitting R&D into approximately 60 small teams, and redesigning internal approval processes using AI agents. The company reiterated its financial guidance for the first quarter and full year of fiscal 2027, projecting quarterly revenue between $253 million and $255 million.
