On May 8, the General Office of the People's Government of Sichuan Province unveiled a comprehensive plan. This plan delineates that by 2027, artificial intelligence (AI) will achieve extensive and profound integration with pivotal sectors. Specifically, the application penetration rate for next-generation smart terminals and intelligent agents is projected to exceed 70%. Additionally, the plan envisions the formation of 2 to 3 industrial clusters in niche sectors that boast national competitiveness. Simultaneously, the plan will prioritize the development of approximately 10 industry-leading large models with national influence. It will also foster the creation of a series of lightweight edge-side models. Furthermore, the establishment of about 10 major landmark application scenarios across various industrial sectors is planned, along with the development of approximately 20 application scenario laboratories and other public platforms. Looking ahead to 2030, Sichuan aims to establish 1 to 2 national-level emerging industry clusters and set up 200 advanced smart manufacturing factories. The province also aspires to attract over 2,500 AI enterprises, with the industrial scale surpassing RMB 400 billion. This ambitious vision will accelerate the creation of a nationally influential AI innovation hub and application pilot zone. By this time, the application penetration rate for next-generation smart terminals and intelligent agents is expected to exceed 90%. By 2035, Sichuan is poised to fully transition into a new era characterized by the development of a smart economy and smart society.
