According to The Decoder, Project Prometheus, a startup under Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, recently recruited Kyle Kosic, co-founder of xAI. Kosic previously led the infrastructure development for xAI's 'Colossus' supercomputer and had worked at OpenAI before joining Prometheus. Project Prometheus is not a conventional general-purpose chatbot company but focuses on AI applications in engineering and manufacturing scenarios, covering areas such as computers, automobiles, and spacecraft. Bezos himself serves as co-CEO, aiming to drive AI to understand and optimize the physical world, rather than merely stay at (remaining at) the level of text generation. This personnel move reflects the fierce competition in the AI industry for top technical talent, particularly those who understand both large models and underlying systems.
