Anthropic has introduced its latest innovation—a versatile language model named Claude Mythos Preview—alongside the launch of Project Glasswing. This ambitious initiative has garnered the support of 12 tech behemoths, including Amazon AWS, Apple, and Google. Together, they are harnessing the power of the Claude Mythos Preview model to meticulously scan and rectify security vulnerabilities in pivotal software systems worldwide. During rigorous testing phases, the model exhibited remarkable proficiency in vulnerability detection, successfully identifying thousands of high-risk zero-day flaws. Among these discoveries were a remote crash vulnerability lurking in OpenBSD for 27 years and an elusive bug concealed within FFmpeg for 16 years. Demonstrating its commitment to cybersecurity, Anthropic has pledged up to $100 million in model usage credits for Project Glasswing and earmarked $4 million for donations to open-source software maintenance organizations. At present, access to the Claude Mythos Preview model remains exclusive to partners and organizations safeguarding critical infrastructure, ensuring its capabilities are utilized for the greater good.
