According to a February 20 report from The Information, OpenAI has assembled a dedicated team of over 200 professionals to spearhead the development of a diverse range of AI-powered hardware devices. This lineup includes smart speakers, smart glasses, and smart lighting solutions. Notably, the smart speaker stands out as the inaugural hardware offering in this venture. Priced between $200 and $300, it is slated for a potential market debut as early as February 2027 and will come equipped with an integrated camera. Meanwhile, the production of smart glasses is anticipated to commence on a larger scale by 2028.
