Eight departments, led by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, have jointly released a set of guidelines. These guidelines propose that by 2027, China will ensure a secure and dependable supply of crucial core technologies in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). Furthermore, China's AI industry is projected to attain a global top-tier position in terms of both scale and its capacity to empower various sectors.
By that time, China will have facilitated the widespread adoption of three to five general-purpose large AI models within the manufacturing sector. Additionally, it will have established a specialized and all-encompassing industry large model system and created 100 high-caliber industrial datasets. The initiative also includes the promotion of 500 exemplary application scenarios.
Simultaneously, China aims to nurture two to three ecologically dominant enterprises with a global footprint, along with a cluster of specialized and innovative small and medium-sized enterprises. The goal is to foster a number of empowerment application service providers who possess a deep understanding of AI and are well-versed in industry-specific needs, ultimately selecting 1,000 benchmark enterprises.
Moreover, China is set to establish a globally leading open-source ecosystem, comprehensively bolster its safety governance capabilities, and offer Chinese insights and solutions to contribute to the worldwide advancement of artificial intelligence.
