Microsoft has set its sights on transforming Windows 11 into a system that natively incorporates AI agents, a strategic move that has, however, ignited a wave of discontent among its user base. When Pavan Davuluri, the President of Windows + Devices, took to social media to champion this shift, he was met with a torrent of criticism from users. The backlash was so intense that he eventually had to disable the comment section.

In the wake of the ensuing controversy, Davuluri made another post, acknowledging the users' worries about the reliability, performance, and user-friendliness of the AI features. He also vowed to make improvements. Nevertheless, he underscored that Microsoft's stance on fully integrating AI features into Windows 11 remained unwavering.

The controversy was further stoked when Mustafa Suleyman, the CEO of Microsoft's AI division, labeled those who showed no interest in Microsoft's AI upgrades as cynics. This remark only served to draw more flak.

Netizens, by and large, are of the opinion that Microsoft's aggressive push for AI has not enhanced the user experience but is rather a bid to ride the wave of trends and inflate stock prices. There seems to be a growing rift between Microsoft's leadership and its average users.
