A non-profit research organization has introduced an AI-driven research system called Kosmos. In a mere 12-hour session, this system is capable of reviewing 1,500 research papers, writing and running 42,000 lines of code, and generating reports that are fully traceable. This impressive feat matches the workload a human team would typically accomplish over a six-month period. Kosmos is built upon a structured world model, ensuring logical consistency even in contexts that involve over 10 million tokens. To date, it has already made seven groundbreaking discoveries across various fields, with four of them being the first of their kind to be reported. The system utilizes an autonomous loop architecture, which enables it to conduct data analysis and literature reviews multiple times in a single run. This ensures that its conclusions are not only precise but also come with auditable citations. In real-world testing scenarios, Kosmos has independently replicated three unpublished studies. Currently available for commercial use, Kosmos provides free quotas for academic researchers. It performs optimally on datasets that are under 5GB in size and achieves around 58% accuracy in cross-domain integrated reasoning tasks. The research team is actively working on integrating Kosmos with laboratory automation equipment to create a fully closed-loop system.
