Qiao Siyuan, a pivotal member of ByteDance's Seed large - language model team, has recently made the move to Meta. This year also saw the mid - year departures of Jiang Lu and Tian Zhi, both core members of the Seed visual model research team. Jiang Lu has since joined Apple. Jiang Lu came on board ByteDance in February 2024, tasked with leading the development of video - generating AI. Prior to this, he served as the research lead for Google's VideoPoet project. Tian Zhi, who joined ByteDance in mid - 2023, was a crucial technical contributor at Guangnian Zhiwai and also acted as a TopSeed mentor.
