On November 17, 2025, Google DeepMind and Google Research jointly launched the weather forecasting model WeatherNext 2, with its forecast data now integrated into the Earth Engine and BigQuery platforms. Meanwhile, Google will introduce an early access program for customized model inference on the Vertex AI platform of Google Cloud. By integrating WeatherNext technology, Google has upgraded the forecasting capabilities of its search engine, Gemini, Pixel Weather, and the weather API of the Google Maps Platform. In the coming weeks, this technology will also support weather information on Google Maps.
