At the Midea Group Visionaries Conference held today, Steve Zhou, the co-founder of Zhiyuan Robotics, declared that artificial intelligence is rapidly progressing towards Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). He anticipates that AGI will be initially realized after the advent of GPT-6. Remarkably, it will have taken only a decade, from the widespread implementation of computer vision in 2015 to the anticipated achievement of rudimentary AGI in 2025. (Here, "rudimentary" is used to convey the idea of an early, basic form of AGI, fitting the context of initial realization.)
Embodied intelligence represents the convergence point of AI and robotics development. The next phase in the evolution of AI will be characterized by physical AI. Since 2022, the advancement of embodied intelligence has been propelled by large-scale models and generative AI technologies. As a result, we are witnessing the rapid emergence of robots that are not only interactive but also highly versatile.
