Recently, a research team headed by Researcher Zhou Zhitao from the National Key Laboratory of Sensor Technology at the Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, in conjunction with the research group led by Researcher Tao Hu of Shanghai NeuroXess Co., Ltd., has successfully created a minimally invasive, implantable intraventricular flexible neural interface utilizing silk fibroin. This innovative neural interface is capable of self-deploying within the cerebrospinal fluid environment and can seamlessly adhere to the brain's "inner surfaces," including deep brain nuclei and ventricles. This enables long-term in vivo monitoring, offering a groundbreaking technical approach for the analysis of neural diseases associated with deep brain nuclei.
