From October 27 to 28, the first-ever AI-Driven Science Symposium, organized by the Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute for Neuroscience, took place in San Francisco, USA. The event drew more than 20 of the world's leading scholars and industry pioneers, including three Nobel Prize winners, the Emeritus President of Stanford University, and the Chairman of Alphabet's Board of Directors. These distinguished guests gathered to explore how AI can act as a catalyst for scientific breakthroughs.

Tianqiao Chen, the founder of Shanda Group and the Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute for Neuroscience, made a significant announcement at the symposium. He declared his commitment to investing $1 billion in computing resources to empower scientists globally in their pursuit of groundbreaking AI research. Tianqiao Chen holds the conviction that the true essence and ultimate value of AI reside in its capacity for discovery. He refers to this as "discovery intelligence," which he defines as a form of true general artificial intelligence. This intelligence is not only capable of formulating questions and discerning patterns but also exhibits creativity and the ability to make novel discoveries.

To further bolster research efforts, Tianqiao Chen also unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at providing robust support for emerging scientists.
