By the close of trading on October 29, 2025, the performance of large-cap tech stocks on the US stock market presented a mixed bag. The Nasdaq Composite Index, a key barometer for tech stocks, managed to climb 0.55%, setting a fresh all-time high.
Among the gainers, Nvidia shone brightly, surging 3.05%. This impressive rise propelled its total market capitalization beyond the $5 trillion mark, making it the first company globally to achieve such a monumental scale. Apple also had a good day, with its stock price increasing by 0.26%. This enabled its market cap to exceed $4 trillion for the very first time, a significant milestone in the tech giant's history. Google wasn't far behind, rising 2.65% to reach a new peak. Other tech players like AMD and Broadcom also saw positive movements, with gains of 2.45% and 3.49% respectively. Teradyne had an outstanding performance, soaring 20.47%, while Tesla inched up by 0.21%.
However, not all large-cap tech stocks fared well. Microsoft, a stalwart in the tech industry, experienced a slight dip of 0.10%. Meta, which had been in the spotlight recently, only managed a meager 0.03% increase, a stark contrast to its earlier significant drop before the market opened.
