Meta Platforms Inc. has revealed its anticipation of a marked surge in total expenditures by 2026, with plans to persist in making massive investments in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI) at an unprecedented level. Based on Meta's recent announcement, the company's net profit for the third quarter stood at $2.71 billion. However, this figure incorporated a one-off, non-cash income tax expense amounting to $15.9 billion, which arose from the enactment of the tax reform bill in July. Meta clarified that, had this accounting charge been excluded, the net profit would have witnessed a 19% upswing, soaring to $18.6 billion.
