On October 29, Beijing witnessed the official rollout of the Special Fund for the Development of Strategic Emerging Industries in Central State-Owned Enterprises. This fund is now primed for investment, aiming to expedite the growth of strategic emerging industries. Initially, the fund's scale has been set at a substantial 51 billion yuan, with China Reform Holdings earmarking around 15 billion yuan for contribution. The investment phase of the fund spans five years, with the potential for a two-year extension. Coupled with an eight-year management and exit period, the fund's total lifespan extends to 15 years. Its primary objective is to aid central state-owned enterprises in overcoming vulnerabilities, fostering innovative strategies, and strengthening their core capabilities and competitiveness. The fund will concentrate its investments on pivotal sectors within strategic emerging industries, notably artificial intelligence and future-oriented industries.
