On September 24th, foreign media sources reported that Microsoft made an announcement on the same day, revealing its plan to integrate two AI models—Claude Sonnet 4 and Claude Opus 4.1—from Anthropic into the Microsoft 365 Copilot platform. This strategic move holds considerable significance. Not only does it expand the range of options available for Microsoft 365 Copilot beyond those provided by OpenAI models, but it also grants Microsoft's customers access to Anthropic's models within Researcher and Microsoft Copilot Studio.

Charles Lamanna, who serves as the President of the Microsoft Business and Industrial Copilot Team, emphasized that Copilot will maintain its support from the latest models offered by OpenAI. However, he also highlighted that customers now enjoy greater flexibility, as they have the option to select Anthropic's models, whether they are initiating their work from Researcher or constructing agents within Microsoft Copilot Studio.
