Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology unveiled two significant lists: the 2025 List of Characteristic Industrial Clusters for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) and the List of the First Batch of Clusters That Successfully Passed the 2022 Review. Among the selected clusters, six, including the Embodied AI Component Industrial Cluster located in Minhang District, Shanghai, made it to the list. This achievement places Shanghai second across the nation in terms of the number of newly added clusters. Additionally, all clusters from the first batch have successfully cleared the review process. At present, Shanghai boasts 20 national-level clusters and 20 municipal-level clusters. In 2024, the combined industrial output value (revenue) of the city's clusters neared RMB 700 billion, marking a 14% year-on-year increase. Impressively, 80% of these clusters achieved a total output value surpassing RMB 10 billion. These clusters have attracted nearly 8,000 SMEs, with a remarkable concentration rate of 98.48%. Among them are several manufacturing single champions, specialized and sophisticated SMEs producing novel and unique products, as well as listed SMEs.
