Neuralink Reveals 12 Individuals Have Received Its Brain-Computer Chip Implants, with Cumulative Usage Surpassing 15,000 Hours

On Tuesday, Elon Musk's brain-computer interface enterprise, Neuralink, made public that 12 individuals across the globe have been fitted with its brain-computer chip implants. Back in June of this year, its collaborator, the Barrow Neurological Institute, reported that seven patients suffering from severe paralysis had undergone the implantation procedure. These patients were subsequently able to manipulate both digital and physical devices using only their thoughts. On Tuesday, Neuralink further disclosed that an additional five patients have received the implants since June. Collectively, these patients have utilized the devices for a total of 2,000 days, with the cumulative usage time exceeding 15,000 hours.
