On September 3, OpenAI announced the acquisition of the product testing startup Statsig. Vijaye Raji, the founder and CEO of Statsig, will assume the newly created position of Head of Applied Technology, guiding the product engineering endeavors for ChatGPT and the code generation tool Codex. The deal, valued at $1.1 billion, was finalized through an all-stock transaction. Statsig will maintain its independence and continue to serve its current clientele from its Seattle headquarters.
