A research team from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne has successfully integrated a high-performance femtosecond laser into a photonic chip for the first time. This laser can generate laser pulses with an energy of 1.05 nanojoules and a pulse width of only 147 femtoseconds, matching the performance of traditional tabletop devices and providing a new direction for the miniaturization and cost reduction of ultrafast lasers. The relevant findings were published in the latest issue of the journal Nature.
