On July 30, the Federal Service for Technical and Export Control of the Russian Federation imposed a ban on the import and sale of specific series models of trucks from Chinese brands Dongfeng, Foton, Jiefang (a subsidiary of FAW), and Shandeka, along with one model of Foton chassis, within Russian territory. Citing safety concerns, the Russian authorities have identified issues such as substandard brake system performance, excessive noise levels, and non-compliance with regulations pertaining to vehicle inspection and emergency call equipment installation in these models. Consequently, the Russian side has mandated the official representative offices of each affected brand to arrange for recall activities to rectify the identified problems.
