On July 23, the Passenger Car Association unveiled data indicating that retail sales of passenger vehicles in China from July 1 to 20 amounted to 978,000 units, representing an 11% rise year-on-year but a 12% decline month-on-month. Year-to-date, cumulative retail sales have reached 11.88 million units, marking an 11% increase compared to the same period last year. During the same period, retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles totaled 537,000 units, a 23% jump year-on-year but a 12% drop month-on-month. The market penetration rate for new energy vehicles stands at 54.9%, with cumulative retail sales for the year surpassing 6.006 million units, signifying a 32% year-on-year growth.
