On June 10, Japanese truck behemoth Hino Motors and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation officially unveiled their merger, backed by Toyota and Daimler respectively. The four entities have finalized an agreement to establish a new holding company with its headquarters in Tokyo. Under this arrangement, Hino and Mitsubishi Fuso will transition into wholly-owned subsidiaries of the newly formed company, while Daimler Trucks and Toyota will each hold a 25% equity stake. The primary objective of this collaboration is to bolster competitiveness across research and development, procurement, production, and other key areas.
