On June 13th, CATL's subsidiaries, Times EV Services and Times Xiaoju, in collaboration with China FAW Import and Export Corporation and Longsheng New Energy, signed an agreement in Hong Kong to propel the widespread adoption of battery-swapping electric vehicles in the city and commence the development of battery swapping infrastructure. The roles of the four partners are distinctly delineated: China FAW will focus on vehicle model development and after-sales services, Times EV Services will handle battery operations and recycling, Times Xiaoju will provide digital support for the battery swapping stations, and Longsheng New Energy will oversee local infrastructure construction and vehicle promotion. The joint venture aims to establish 10 battery swapping stations across Hong Kong by the end of 2026, creating a comprehensive city-wide battery swapping network.
